Skin, a layered structure
Skin Architecture

A nourishing balm,
without the greasiness.

For years, I tried balms, but I never liked the greasy feeling they left on my skin. So I wanted to create a different kind of balm, one designed around the way skin is built and works. One formula, built in layers, like skin. I call it Skin Architecture.

Three layers that work with the skin

This formula is built in three layers, each with a different role. From first contact to continued support, each one is designed to work with the skin in a different way.

① first contact
Abyssinian • Jojoba • Squalane

The first layer is what you feel immediately. The balm melts on contact and leaves the skin soft, with a silky finish.

② MOISTURE & BARRIER
Tomato Seed • Cacay • Pomegranate • Lecithin

Beneath that, lipids support the skin barrier and help the skin hold on to moisture for longer. Softens dry skin.

Bakuchiol • Astaxanthin • Rosehip • Sea Buckthorn

The final layer takes more time. The added actives support smoother, more even-looking skin with continued use.

Inside the formula

Six seeds Six different roles

each oil included for a reason

Jojoba
Jojoba
Softness

A liquid wax that softens dry skin and leaves a fine, comfortable lipid layer. It gives the balm its smooth glide and helps the other oils spread evenly.

Abyssinian
Abyssinian
Lightness

Rich in erucic acid, Abyssinian oil spreads in a very thin layer and leaves the skin smooth without a greasy film. It is an important reason why this oil-rich balm still feels so light.

Cacay
Cacay
Barrier support

Exceptionally rich in linoleic acid, cacay oil supports the skin barrier and helps the skin retain moisture. Its naturally occurring tocopherols add antioxidant support, while the oil absorbs with very little residue.

Tomato seed
Tomato seed
moisture retention

Tomato seed oil is naturally rich in linoleic acid. It softens dry skin and contributes to the fine lipid layer that helps slow moisture loss. Natural tocopherols and phytosterols add antioxidant support to the formula.

Pomegranate
Pomegranate
Resilience

Pomegranate seed oil is rich in punicic acid, a rare omega-5 fatty acid. It brings a distinctive lipid profile to the formula and helps the skin remain soft, comfortable and better able to retain moisture.

Rosehip CO₂
Rosehip CO₂
skin quality

Rosehip CO₂ combines essential fatty acids with naturally occurring carotenoids and tocopherols. Over time, it supports skin that feels smoother and looks more even.

Beyond the six seeds the actives

ASTAXANTHIN
ASTAXANTHIN

Antioxidant. A deep red carotenoid that adds antioxidant support to the skin and helps protect the oils in the formula from oxidation.

BAKUCHIOL
BAKUCHIOL

The renewer. A plant-based alternative to retinol with clinically studied benefits. Helps refine skin texture and supports a more even-looking complexion. Generally well tolerated.

SEA BUCKTHORN
SEA BUCKTHORN

Moisture and comfort. Rich in palmitoleic acid and carotenoids. It softens dry skin and helps it hold on to moisture, while adding antioxidant support to the formula.

A note from the founder

I wanted to create a different kind of balm. One that did not feel heavy or greasy, but felt right from the first touch and continued to support the skin after application. So I built the formula in layers, following the way skin itself is structured.

I make every batch myself, by hand, in small runs. It takes more time, but it means I know exactly what goes into every jar.

The skin works in layers. So does the balm.

That's where Skin Architecture began.
